Welcome to Old Darby, where style meets purpose. Founded by a Marine Corps disabled veteran with a passion for charity and a love for mid-century modern design, we're a mission-driven company that's all about providing value to our customers and giving back to the community.

We specialize in high-quality furniture that's either inspired by the iconic design period of the 1950s and 1960s or are faithful reproductions of the originals. Whether you're looking to add a touch of vintage flair to your home or you're a collector of mid-century modern pieces, you'll find something you love in our collection.

But we don't just want to sell you furniture. We want to make a difference. That's why we donate a minimum of 50% of our net profits to organizations that are making a positive impact in the world.

Join us on our journey to create a beautiful home, and a beautiful world. Shop with Old Darby today and make a difference in your home and the world.

Our Story

What began as a paddleboard company soon shifted into a desire to make and sell long-lasting furniture and fashion items.  Throughout the early years of the company, our Founder discovered that most mainstream furniture is built with low-quality materials, and were (essentially) designed to be disposable.  To heck with the disposable culture, he said, and he set off to curate a collection of unique and well-made pieces that will stand the test of time in both design aesthetic and quality of build.

We feel good about our direction, and we reflect and build upon the values of the very ideals that led to this shift in operations as we carry out our own company investments. Here at Old DARBY, unlike some other marketplaces, we put our money back into communities and causes to create a cleaner, more sustainable, and harmonious human-environmental relationship. We are only just getting started, but we are excited about this journey and have high hopes for making a positive impact on people and the environment.

With that said, no company or brand is perfect. There is often a clash of philosophies, a little dissonance, and nearly every production method or ethical goal has a fatal flaw.  Even noble attempts to make vegan and cruelty-free products often results in unintended environmental repercussions, or the products do not last as long as animal-based products and we therefore increase the need for more production and, thus, create more waste, more pollution and continue to harm the animals we set out to protect. Yet we cannot overstate the importance of everyone making an effort to do things in a better and less harmful way because we only have one planet, so let's ensure it lasts.
